Your notes live on your phone

Notes, recordings, highlights, margin writing, prayers and plans are stored on your device. You can use Sermon Bible without an account. Export and backup are always free.

If you sign in

You can sign in with your email address and a one-time code, or with Apple or Google. Apple and Google tell us your email address and, if you allow it, your name; nothing else. While you are signed in, a copy of your notes, highlights, margin writing, plans, prayers, saved studies, Ask conversations and a few reading preferences is kept on our server so your other phones receive them. Your profile name, photo and home church are kept too, and your birthday if you add one. Recordings never leave the phone that made them unless you ask Scribe to transcribe one.

Your birthday

Adding your birthday is optional. If you turn on the birthday email, we use your birthday, first name, home church and time zone to send one email on your birthday each year. It is only offered to people 13 and over. Turn it off or remove your birthday at any time in Profile, then Edit.

The AI tools

When you use Ask, Study, Scan, Scribe, devotional plans, prayers or the sermon retelling, what that tool needs is sent to our server and to OpenAI to produce the answer: your question and passage, the photo of a page you scan, or the recording you ask Scribe to transcribe. They are used only to answer you. The live transcript works entirely on your phone; nothing is sent.

Your answers to the welcome questions

The questions about your walk with God, what you are longing for and your church life are kept only on your phone. They shape your starter plan and suggestions, and they are never sent to us or anyone else.

Share links

When you share a note as a link, a copy of that note (never the recording or transcript) is kept so anyone with the link can read it. Turning the link off deletes the copy.

Purchases

Sermon Bible Plus is sold through the App Store and Google Play. RevenueCat processes the subscription status for us. We never see your payment details.

What we never do

Deleting your data

Settings, then Account, then Delete account removes your sign-in, the synced copy of your notes, your profile and photo, and your share links from our server. Notes on your phone stay until you delete the app.

Signing out clears your notes and profile from that phone; the copy in your account stays, and comes back when you sign in again. Before clearing, the app warns you about anything only on that phone, such as recordings, and lets you keep it there instead.
